If there was already a plan to draw it in the future i.e. phased UFPLS, or an intention to gift next year, or use PCLS to replace a car next year etc etc, then you could argue there is a case for bringing it forward. Otherwise, acting on speculation…

@richardgough said: Planner Pal What did you think? We found that it was lacking the detail of some of the others - the summary was too high level.

We have tested Saturn Coplanner, Planner Pal and Advisory AI. Will look at Aveni also.

Hello, Does anyone have a structured method of conducting due diligence on the cashflow tool market? I noticed in the TR24/1 paper that it was something that firms are expected to do, however since adopting Voyant many years ago, we haven't reall…

Haha, it will be interesting to hear the devil in the detail! Thanks both.

Hello, we take the same approach as @Calvert76 Risk is discussed and considered annually, but the questionnaire only needs completing every three years.

Hi Krosser. To be honest, I think a cashflow is the way to go where you kill the client off in year 1 is the way to go. It doesn't need to be especially complex.

Xplan and Voyant definitely integrate. You do have to make sure the quality of the data on the client record is accurate to make it worthwhile though. Does anyone use Timeline as well as Voyant? How do they complement each other?

Hello, Could you use a spreadsheet to list the funds in column A, value in column B, %OCF in column C and £OCF in column D. Total columns B and D, then work out the % of D vs B to give you the weighted OCF?

Hi, I’m starting to think about the changes to wording we need to make for the new tax year. How are others dealing with the lifetime allowance changes and wording in their letters? My understanding is the same as @Wildparaplanner in that the LTA…

Thank you @Caro . I have shared with the team here.

A speculative bump......!

I agree with @LottieS . Receiving three different answers to the same question is grounds for complaint and means your query will get escalated to someone who knows what they are talking about. It will also flag some training needs in those who g…

Can I ask how you get the information on the factfind into your CRM? Is it integrated or do you have to do it manually? On that note, does anyone have any experience of using the XPLAN factfind? We are looking at it because it is integrated with …

There are definitely integrations with Voyant and FE. Not sure about the others, although SaP was imminent in the summer.

Hi Jammy, The important thing is that your assumptions are evidence backed. With this in mind, we tend to source data on CPI, AWE, Mortality etc and base our assumptions on that. For example, our assumption on CPI is the 30-year average. If quest…

We have recently moved a syndicate away from Curtis Banks on service grounds.

What sort of content are you after?

Hello, the admin team complete application forms for us, unless there is a more technical or complex angle, in which case the Paraplanner will. It's all about getting the right people doing the right jobs in a way that gives the best value for the b…

You can get a good feel for this via recruitment agents websites and job adverts.

There is no doubt that you are underpaid, even with the increase to £35K. The only thing i'd say is that you may want to consider if the opportunity to develop into an adviser role is a genuine one. If it is, it might be worth taking a short term…

Just the two for me. Both portrait and single. Two is enough I think. I certainly could never go back to one monitor!

Going off on a slight tangent here but i'd say get the ISA recs done at review stage. Even if the review is in June and the clients don't have the funds until March, as long as their circumstances haven't changed, a letter won't be needed.

We average about a dozen each a month, although as has been previously pointed out, there are many variables to consider, including report complexity. The grading system is an interesting one but to be honest, I think it becomes apparent quite quick…
