We're not doing it as we can't act as agent - but our Tax Team (part of an accountancy practice) can do it for us.

Hi Richard, just saw this post. Yes, Intelliflo and Xero for our accounting side. Luckily we have our owners to help us out with our management accounts but happy to share how we do it.
-
Team here has been using Investment Sense but have noticed a number of providers pulling rates for pension schemes and rates reducing (no surprise there).

Yes, and you can password protect it in a PDF format when sending the email. The pages you want to send need to be in what call a poly pocket but it means you can send multiple pages. Quality isn't as good as the original PDF . If I was adding it to…

Of course. And yes you're quite right it's not comparing like with like. Drop me an email and we can set up a time? susan.pringle@hlfp.co.uk

Volume for us and iO portal to share documents with client where we can.
-
If the client is over LTA and all other criteria match I'd ask the question again. They have a small pots form on their website.

I like that Selectapension now offer actual annuity rates so using a dummy age would work - and that's what I do on getting an rate to show what a "mirror" annuity would look like (using fund required and scheme pension v estimated fund and using th…

Agree with @Nathan, Fincart is a great place to start. You'll get your own style of writing and how you want to get across your message after a while. We've been promoting short videos we've done over the last year (currently doing another push out …

@raveenkaur I'm not a study buddy, but stick RO1 in the search bar and have a look through some of the other topics, eg https://thebigtent.paraplannerspowwow.co.uk/discussion/comment/3785#Comment_3785 Good luck and welcome to the profession.

I've had a look at Docusign. It's an add on for Intelliflo but regardless of that, I think this is definitely what we'll be using in the future.
-
You’re now in charge of our Team’s regular catch up meetings Claire 😀 Fantastic idea. Nearly video called Anouska this morning still in my jammies! That’s a good tip - get dressed 😏😱

That's not like L&G to tell you one thing when it's actually another. Had previous.... :-(

We use Money Alive for DB Transfers and it's mandatory. It's been really useful for client discussions and particularly where it's generally pretty obvious from the initial "I want advice on my DB scheme" request that they shouldn't do anything. The…

I pay - make sure if you do, you claim it with HMRC

@Jona said: Amongst other things................ ice cream van driver. The tune of teddy bears picnic still haunts me. It was a summer of discontent. Oh I worked in an ice cream parlour - Feargal Sharkey - A Good Heart = screaming …

@Sam FANTASTIC :-)

It's pretty much what I've always done. Left school to work as a PA to an IFA who were part of a stockbroker. Black Monday hit (back when shoulder pads were very in) and moved to an IFA attached to an Insurance Broker for 16 years, then moved to …

Do you use the plastic combs? That's what we used but a change of branding meant that the metal ones look much better. But it does mean you have to be sure that it's the final document! :-)
-
We changed to a metal comb binder earlier this year. Looks much better for paper based reports. We've started using our portal for review reports where we can.
-
We put all non-client appendices/extra reading on a USB (had them made up with our firm name on them) and we will move soon to posting these on the client portal and hopefully doing away with USBs too.

Ability to bring client info across from iO. Saves so much time on the initial build. Taxes are a must. How it looks in front of a client (Adviser Go works better than Voyant once you're used to the differences). But then again, we've used parapl…

And if they can make it as an employer, wholly and exclusive rules?
-
To be honest I've not looked, but I've done quite a bit of the book on training courses I've been sent on years ago. I worked with a national IFA so training was always available within the firm back then. If I find something I'll let you know.

I'm doing it in April 2020 to round off my SMF responsibilities. It's dry (been going to do it for the last 12 months so dipped in and out of the book) but definitely worth having moving into the practice management role. There's a Powwow about team…

I couldn't get it to work on desktop so did it by my phone link. Email them - members@ifw.org.uk

Sounds really interesting. I signed up as soon as I saw the posts. The podcasts Chris does are really good too.
-
Our strike out would be after year 2 and no response, not in the first year. We are seeing more and more disengagements with clients though, particularly at the lower end.
-
Yes, sounds like a decision that's been taken at firm level to ensure advisers review their client bank.
