To be fair, they both had experience. However I am sure there are more established companies that may be looking for people they can train and put through exams. I have heard of one company that are looking to possibly hire in January and another …

@Yonkers420 said: Yeah or even googling "ifa admin, your location" usually turns up some results or you could even contact some local IFAs directly and see if they're hiring. Or other outsourced paraplanning firms. You never know what mi…

Michelle Hoskin can tell you all about the Paraplanner Standard, but obviously she will give a somewhat biased opinion in favour of the standard. Other comments I have seen see it as nothing more than a money making exercise (that said, I've seen…

If you have the opportunity go for it. I'm stalled with one L6 exam as I simply don't have the time to study and run a new business at the same time. I might get CII chartered one day, but not any time soon

The Exeter might be worth considering as I think they do specialised cases. (Pioneer Friendly Society used to but they've been bought and their buyers (Scottish Friendly) don't appear to offer income protection any more)

How about LV? I know they are low cost, although I haven't experienced their after sales service. They also have a smoothed funds option if you're looking for a good alternative to Prufund. Aviva also offer pensions off-platform, and I guess some…

@parawhat said: Like you say, can't you just amend your fee agreement to add a clause to the % contingent charge by saying something like: "We will charge an additional fixed fee of £XXX for each additional pension plan we review. This is…

OneDrive for me - includes 1TB free for MS 365 subscribers, which meets my needs perfectly, at least for now. I get Sharepoint as well, and I have some stuff on there too which I see as my archive, and don't really need to access it on a day to day…

For my April 2019 sitting, I think we got the results a day early. I called the CII first thing on the Friday to get it remarked, and got a response on 25 June 2019. I still have the feedback in my email!
-
I had one of my AF7 papers remarked and still failed! The good thing about remarks is that you get much better feedback from the examiner which you may find helpful for future sittings

Treasury Orders would probably be CPI, but for a definitive answer I would contact the scheme.

4 trains is a lot - when I was looking for a job and being asked if I would travel to London, I was baulking at one! I get the motivation thing - some days are really hard but on the whole I prefer not travelling too far - just outside my back door…

Hi Jack I must say, that's a bit of a change from teaching! Firstly, well done for studying for those exams, and the best of luck for when you take them. In my opinion, if you want to move sooner rather than later, it would be better to pass …

I missed this on here the other day - we got it all sorted yesterday

@Jenny_ForesightGroup in your video it suggests a £700,000 investment (I assume to reduce the estate to the point that the RNRB becomes available). If this is then gifted after 2 years would this not become a CLT and therefore chargeable for 20% li…

I'd certainly be interested in that, although my wife might have something to say if it was on a Sunday!

It's on the events page: https://paraplannerspowwow.co.uk/events/outsourced-freelancer-running-a-small-business-during-covid-19-this-is-for-you/

Is there something happening on Sunday?

I know a few people that are using Docusign, although I personally haven't had experience of using them

Slightly off the topic of chairs, but possibly just as important. I was doing some quite intensive figure work one day, and at the end of that my neck was really stiff. This was because my monitors were too low. I invested in a stand for my mon…

I'm still working, and training for a bike ride that may well be called off. I see that as a sort of advantage as it gives me an extra year to get my fitness nearer to where I want it to be, plus more time to raise the money I need for the charity!…

Hi Elaine First of all, a warm welcome to the Big Tent! The difference between CF1 and R01 is the exam level. CF1 is certificate level and is a great 'entry level' exam which is normally one of the first that people take when they start in fi…

I have the mortgage qualification and I used that for when I was an adviser. When I was an in-house paraplanner I had to deal with mortgages. It was arguably the least favourite part of my role, to the extent that I have chosen not to deal with mo…

Hey all. Just picking up from yesterday... My weekend was still busy - I spoke to a couple of my clients who told me they are really pleased with my support, which is great to hear. I'm luckier than most in that I haven't seen a slowdown yet, b…

I actually had a networking lunch today with a small group of people, in our own private room, which was great. Walking there and back got me 10,000 steps logged on the FitBit so that should have walked the lunch off!

I certainly am @richallum. I think a lot of us will be ok for March but after that things get a bit sketchy as investors are holding back as well now, even though one of my clients conducts their meetings over video chat.

Yes @DanAtkinsonUK can you send that please as I didn't receive it

There are also events run by the Sussex CII if you can get to Crawley. Run by John Trayner, they get booked up quickly. You can book them online through the Sussex CII events page
