Just found an AI meeting notes function on zoom. Great for getting advisers to actually write up their notes in a coherent and logical manner!

My local PFS institute are running a few webinars on AF4 - maybe you will be able to get access? https://cms.localinstitutes.cii.co.uk/sussex/home/events/2022/exam-cram/af4-investment-planning-remote-study-course-q1-2022

Ditto with Voyant GO and it has multiple ways of stress testing and measuring C4L - they ran a session recently on this; recording might be up on their YouTube page? Rightsizing - it does have a certain ring to it....

Speaking with Voyant, when we switched to GO from Adviser at the start of the year, their future development will all be focused on GO. The assumption being therefore Adviser will become obsolete at some point in the future.

@Gustavo_Fring Certainly for junior family members (and depending on value and complexity) we tend to offer this at no extra cost over and above what parents pay us as an ongoing fee. Advice is for the family unit - plus does this make clients more…

We do a fair bit in this area @LizziSmith https://www.drewberryinsurance.co.uk/pensions-advice/final-salary-pension-transfer-advice

My gosh - what sort of commission were AXA paying when that was set up! Is it invested in a bunch of AXA IM funds as well? I would have thought no tax implications on the surrender, as wrapped up in the SIPP. But that is only my opinion. Never c…

We need some Prince and Bowie on the playlist! Listened to Quindon Tarver's Everybody's free (to wear sunscreen) that's got a shout to get on there....? Natalie Prass - Short Court Style is a bit of a lift () Skee-Lo - I Wish for a bit of f…

I believe it is a segmented plan so they just split it out into 3 arrangements and pay the 10K out under each. https://www.oldmutualwealth.co.uk/globalassets/documents/life2/using-small-pots-legislation.pdf

My local sainsbury's was rather sparse this morning - so I am having to have a pot noodle for lunch. I am counting that as a positive - not had one for decades; used to love them!!!

Positive_note - nipping out to my local post office to get stamps, envelopes etc - I noticed my local asian grocer has started doing dim sum and steamed buns at lunch time!

Indeed @benjaminfabi - and if as lump sum then via PAYE adjustment or SA. Advisor dropped the "something in the back of my mind"........ that tax relief is not possible. It is a pension contribution, so tax relief is possible......
-
@T_Smith I guess that is why, in part, they are launching it as an accumulation only product. They now how to run an ISA so contribution and regulatory reporting for pension shouldn't be too much of a stretch. Once they are happy with systems …

.....hard to ignore.

Thanks all. Our network is insisting on F2F meetings for vulnerable clients - as comments above state, no hard or fast FCA requirement for this but I guess that is the networks interpretation on how best to meet the guidance.

There is no salary link for employer contributions. The test for tax relief (corporation tax) comes down to the wholly and exclusively for the purpose of trade test. AA / TAA will still apply though.

I think @Redawg31 is right. Not sure it really matters as long as your assumptions are (common) sensible, you are clear on what they are and you are aware of the limitations the approach you choose poses. For the record, we use a fixed rate wh…

FATCA wasn't too much of a headache - hopefully this will be the same!

good stuff @richardgough Looks like common sense might prevail.

I think if the pension is already registered with HMRC via pension schemes online then they are OK - no need for dual registration. Who knows what will happen under 5MLD - at the moment it looks like all life assurance in trust will need to regis…

It's the pool cost isn't it..... The lot of them are lumped together and averaged.

Amongst other things................ ice cream van driver. The tune of teddy bears picnic still haunts me. It was a summer of discontent.

My understanding would be that MiFID applies at fund level, not wrapper level as it seeks to provide transparency for UTs, OEICs, ETFs etc. Therefore a fund switch would require fresh ex-ante reporting. Read this yesterday that may provide a …

Voyant or Cash Calc?

can I get a job at your place @Nath ?

Employer - but I had to argue the toss.

Probably safest @Andy_Schleider , yes.

Yeah it a bit of a grey area for me. Wedding not until 2021 (summer I assume) - so 18 months If the bills are falling due and the parents are handing over cash for daughter to settle them as their agent then that would be fine for me. If they …

I tend to follow @Nath approach. no advice fee comparison for a "like for like" basis and to, hopefully, demonstrate a positive difference for the client in terms of reduced costs. then a further one including the advice fee that essentially s…
