Can the value of a DIS benefit be included in the overall pension value when applying for Individual Protection?? (e.g. client is a final salary scheme member with pension of £40k pa and DIS benefit of £300k as at 5/4/2016 - is the 'value' for IP2016 £1.1 million - 20X40k plus £300k - or just £800k and therefore ineligible for the IP2016?)

    No, you can't include the potential value of DIS benefits in the overall value for protection applications.
