STEP exams

Is anyone sitting STEP? I am doing the Financial Services certificate in November and it would be useful if anyone has sat / sitting the exam to share tips and past papers? thanks!

  • I'd be interested to hear how you get on/what you think of it. I suspect there are a few people lurking on this board who are mulling over this addition to their qualifications... I've not done it, but it's on my 'wishlist'/radar...

  • Hi Charlotte, I did the Financial Services Certificate a few years ago. The study areas and topics are similar to J02 but it seems to be different in language and tone to the CII books.

I found reading over some of the past precedents were quite useful to understand the context of what its talking about and some of them are actually quite interesting. I don't have any past papers now unfortunately; tips wise, I would say read more broadly than just the text book and use the syllabus as a guide for what they are testing and as a checklist for the bits you're learning.

    Good luck!

  • I am potentially looking to attempt STEP next year. I would be interested in how you found it. Good luck :-)

  • Thank you everyone I will let you know how I get on!
