J05 study texts

I've got the J05 study text on Revision Mate as part of the assumed knowledge/learning for AF7, but trying to read the e-version is a nightmare!  I have a printed version of the 2016/17 study text which I am hoping is not much different to the 17/18 book, but can anyone corroborate this?  Is there any part of J05 which is completely irrelevant to AF7?  I didn't realise that it would be assumed knowledge for this exam; I thought it was more closely aligned with AF8.
