Role Description

As a Senior Paraplanner, your day-to-day work will be varied and intellectually stimulating. You will take responsibility for analysing client needs and researching appropriate solutions across all areas of financial planning, including investments, pensions, protection, tax, and estate planning. You will also build and review detailed cashflow models to illustrate client scenarios and help advisers test different strategies.

You will be heavily involved in the preparation of client reports, ensuring that all recommendations are accurate, compliant, and tailored to each client’s circumstances and objectives. Attention to detail is critical: maintaining client records, producing suitability reports, and ensuring that files remain complete and compliant will form a core part of the role.

Alongside research and report writing, you will play an important role in the practical implementation of advice. From preparing applications and handling portfolio changes, to supporting advisers during client reviews, you will help ensure strategies are executed smoothly. At times, you may attend client meetings, acting as a technical point of contact and helping to address queries directly.

This role is collaborative, working closely with our team of Planners, administrators, and the wider team to ensure a seamless client experience. You will be seen as a source of technical support within the team, helping advisers to translate complex issues into clear solutions.

You will also contribute to ongoing process improvements, particularly through effective use of financial planning technology, and you will be encouraged to share knowledge and support the development of others within the team.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for someone who combines technical ability with a proactive and professional approach. You will hold the Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning (Level 4) as a minimum and ideally have already achieved, or be progressing towards, Chartered or Certified status. You should bring at least three years of paraplanning or technical experience within financial planning, with a strong understanding of investments, pensions, protection, tax, estate planning, and cashflow modelling.

You will be comfortable working with financial planning tools such as Voyant and Intelligent Office, and confident in applying them to real client scenarios. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential, as is the ability to analyse complex information and present it in a clear, client-friendly way. You should be well organised, capable of managing multiple priorities, and motivated by professional development and continuous learning.
