Task Management System

Hi all.
I work as a paraplanner in the wealth planning division of a private bank and the team is due to grow considerably in the coming months so we are wanting to use a task management system to keep a log/track of all ongoing cases.
I am aware that most back office systems have this built-in but the issue we have is that we use an internally built CRM system for all client information and do not wish to port this to a new back office system.
Would anyone have used any task management systems that didn't require the full use of a back office software.
Any thoughts or comments on this would be greatly appreciated.

If you have Office 365, the Planner app there is a reasonable Trello like / Kanban tool which you can customise.
Thanks for this Steven, it's really helpful!
Thanks Joshua.
Hi,
I've tried all of these. My general rule has always been - if MS365 gives me a solution, try that first as I'm already paying for it. Planner is okay, but I don't use it. You should try it though. MS has a 'launch early, fail fast' approach with software, so I've had to temper my rule to adapt to the possibility that a feature I integrate across my business gets canned. Other SaaS providers where they only have one or two products don't tend to have this issue.
I currently use Basecamp and it's passable. Others are more detailed and could be better depending on use case so try several.
Ultimately though, a dedicated FS oriented back office system is going to offer you a whole lot more than task management, at not a massive amount more cost. I wouldn't rule it out.
