Paraplanner Role: London Blackfriars/Hybrid Policy

We are looking to recruit a Paraplanner to join our boutique wealth management company which delivers bespoke, high quality financial planning and investment advice to individuals in the professional services industry.

The Role

The role will involve working collaboratively in a dynamic team of Chartered Financial Planners, Paraplanners, Investment Analysts and Client Service Executives to help provide initial and ongoing financial planning and investment advice to a wide range of high-net-worth (HNW) clients.

The main responsibilities of the role are:

Completing client suitability reports for new clients, ongoing portfolio review reports and ad-hoc advice requests for existing clients.
Providing technical financial planning support to a team of 6 Chartered Financial Planners (together with the Senior Paraplanner).
Liaising with the client services and paraplanning teams to ensure that the back-office system and client files are accurately maintained for both the client portal and business management information.
Independently writing accurate financial planning and investment recommendations in a succinct and structured manner with a keen eye for small details.
Attending new and existing client meetings with the Chartered Financial Planners and helping with the meeting preparation and subsequent follow-up.
Adhering to internal procedures, the centralised investment proposition and financial planning house views.
Continuing to develop technical and industry knowledge through formal and informal learning as well as on the job training.
Contributing to the future development of the business with regards to the evolution of internal processes and financial planning template documents.
Requirements and Skills

A minimum of 2 years’ working in a similar role in the industry.
Experience of writing advice relating to pensions (including pension transfers and contributions), accumulation and decumulation strategies, tax planning investments, onshore and offshore bonds and trusts.
Diploma Level 4 qualified (or close to) with an intention to progress towards Level 6 professional status.
An organised and methodical working approach, with an ability to balance multiple tasks with competing priorities.
Experience of using Xplan (our CRM system) or an equivalent CRM in the industry to maintain client information and records.
Strong communication skills with an ability to work effectively with all the different functions in a financial planning firm as well as liaising with clients directly by email, online calls and face-to-face meetings.
Experience of working at a firm with an in-house investment proposition advantageous, with knowledge of investment markets and portfolio construction.
Strong mathematical skills with an ability to work confidently with data and spreadsheets.
Experience of preparing long-term cash flow projects via cashflow modelling software, particularly Voyant.
