Hi all,
I'm looking to sit the PCIAM in June of this year and am fully registered. In an ideal world this will be my final exam for Chartered.
I'm a little apprehensive on how different this exam will be in comparison to AF4, I initially read it's very similar however, having looked at past papers i'm not too sure now.
Does anyone have any of the older past papers for the PCIAM they may be able to send me? CISI only have the last 4 available. Can anyone comment on if the paper is negatively marked and in practice how this works?
Thanks

Hi Matt, I'm sitting this as well. I was also a bit surprised as I was told it was the same content, but although there's a big overlap it seems to be a wider/different syllabus (though potentially some areas that are more job relevant so it really is more revision than learning).
I read this blog post - it's a bit old but probably still mostly relevant: https://expertpensions.co.uk/route-to-chartered-the-key-differences-between-af4-and-pciam-part-3-by-michael-pashley/#:~:text=There are three key differences, structure, syllabus, and technique.&text=AF4 is comprised of three, typically answered using bullet-points.
Hope that link works.
Expert Pensions do a study package for it which I have purchased, as any other options were very expensive unfortunately (no subsidised revision courses like with the CII).
I don't think there is negative marking, but it seems you need more points per mark than with AF4 so need to be careful to remember that (something like 2 points per mark instead of 1).
Let me know if you want a study buddy!
Laura
I don't have any older past papers either sorry.
