March's Howwow will be on later life planning.  The panel will include Martin Bamford of Informed Choice and Phil Young of 360 who both have experience in this area. We'll also have a technical specialist from Just Retirement, one of our supporters.

  • Hey Richard

I know that no-one has a crystal ball but I would love to hear the panels views on the State Pension and whether they believe it will still be in place in 10 years or so's time.

I think it would be good to get a handle on the average cost of care fees if available?

    Sustainable drawdown rates?

Spending patterns in retirement - "U" shaped, "W" shaped, etc

    Thoughts on the LISA

Thats all i got for now.
  • I'd second the whole deccumulation issue, SWRs, sequence of returns etc.

I saw that Abraham over at Finalytiq has just launced a new tool along these lines - Timeline - looks interesting. http://www.timelineapp.co.uk/

Thanks for your suggestions.  As we've only got an hour we'll not have time to cover the flexi-access drawdown stuff but we'll add that to the list of ideas for future ones.

Their views on the care fee cap would be interesting; do they think it will actually come in in 2020, and do they think there will be any changes to it given that councils are going to be allowed to raise council tax to help fund care costs.

On a separate note re care information, I find the Paying for Care website is very helpful, it has lots of useful info on it.
