Using Docusign outside of IO

Please help!

I am very new to using IO & Docusign . We have established that Docusign is already set up against our IO account, I am trying to find out how to use docusign for documents outside of IO. The guidance I have been provided with does not tell me how to do this and I am not sure if I can use this licence outside of IO? IF I can, how do I do it?
