Transfer Part of Drawdown to an Annuity

apologies if this is basic stuff, but can you buy an annuity with part of a crystallised fund? L&G say they can't accept it (to buy an annuity).

That's not like L&G to tell you one thing when it's actually another. Had previous.... :-(
