CPD Sources

Hi,

Was just wondering what websites or otheer sources you guys use to meet your annual CPD requirements for both structured and unstructured.

Any guidance would be much appreciated.

  • I go to the CISI Paraplanner Conference which helps greatly. It's worth starting by thinking what you want to learn/develop and build it out from there.

  • I would also attend PFS events as they are mainly free and held relatively frequently. Studying is a way to smash the annual CPD requirement out of the park, however it is likely to be quite focussed on one subject, and don't forget about the 15 hours protection CPD you need.

I would speak to some protection providers about this; this is much easier if you're an in house paraplanner. If you're outsourced they tend to be less than helpful (I can't remember which one it was, but when I told them I was going outsourced and asked them for help they pretty much told me to go away) but you may find the odd one here and there who may be willing to help.

Reading daily is also good to keep you up to date with news, so I subscribe to Citiwire and New Model Adviser, plus Professional Paraplanner and a few others

  • I record my CPD with the CISI and like the Professional Refresher modules which are included with your membership

CII & LIBF also offer online Structured CPD however these are at additional cost.

  • As well as PFS, I also use FT Adviser. I notice that AIG are running CPD for Protection. Has anyone else used them?

  • The PFS are running the Purely Paraplanning roadshows in April and May again this year and they'll have plenty of CPD. The dates and locations for this year are:

    Cambridge 21st April
    London 22nd April
    Bristol 6th May
    East Mids 7th May
    Edinburgh 12th May
    Manchester 14th May

Venues and booking info will all be released soon
