Every once in a while the idea of setting up a DB SSAS for some clients occurs to one of our advisers.

Does anyone have any experience of them? Any cautionary tales?

    We have done a handful (with WBR - was Rowanmoor). All v easy. The new processs with WBR is pretty good - mostly electronic.

    Scheme bank account gets set up with Metro and we invest via Transact.

    Requires HMRC approval, which is apparently taking 6 to 8 weeks at the moment.

    Bear in mind that if you ever want to transfer out your need DB Pension permissions.
