Fairly sure a projection generated now is based on the current state pension amount for the tax year it is generated. For example, if you are entitled to the maximum basic state pension (but in say 10 years time at your state pension age), the projection would show the current maximum of £230.25 per week. If you generate it again in a years' time, you will get the new maximum applicable to the 2026/27 tax year etc... (as per the "triple lock")

When you get the figure on the gov gateway it gives you several figures:

    • Headline amount is the forecast on your SPA.
    • Then a bit further down it tells you the current entitlement based on your record to the latest 5 April
    • Then below that it says how many more your you need to contribute before SPA to get the forecast amount.
    • Then it tells you if you can improve your forecast (i.e. with buying gaps that you don't have enough years left to fill)

All of these amounts are, as @Wildparaplanner said, based on the current rate of State Pension i.e. £230.25 pw in 2025/26. If the headline forecast is more, or less, than the current weekly standard amount, you'll need more information to understand the client's options.
