Difference between J09 and R06

Hi everyone,
I am wanting to return to financial services and doing my CII exams to get up to date again.
Paraplanning is looking very attractive and I’m uming and aring between the Certificate in Paraplanning and the Regulated Diploma. The main difference seems to be you do J09 rather than R06, as you can keep doing exams one you’ve got the Certificate and get the 140 credit Diploma by adding the other R0 units along with some others.
I’m just wondering if i would regret not having the regulated diploma?
What is the difference between J09 and R06?
Thanks

IMO you would be best completing the Regulated Diploma as it's more recognised.
Can then move onto J09 later.
Do you know the difference between the two units?
