AF8 Exam - Assignment 3

Hi all, I have a quick question on the third assignment in AF8.
I had planned on using Voyant to create a cashflow to justify my recommendations. However, I notice there is guidance from the CII which states 'You are not required to use a proprietary cashflow model to model..... You may use a simple spreadsheet or straightforward calculation.'
Has anyone come across this before? I would ideally still prefer to use Voyant as it's far more detailed than a simple excel spreadsheet.

Yes, it is OK to use Voyant and we would absolutely recommend that you use a modeller that you are familiar with to complete your assignment. You might find our blog useful to read through for tips to completing and submitting assignment 3:

I literally just did assignment 3. You have to use excel to create a spreadsheet cashflow for what they are asking. You are not allowed to use any modeller programmes from what I've been told so I wouldn't risk it personally
2 of our advisers have completed AF8 and using Voyant is 100% acceptable.
We provide a cashflow modeller as part of our AF8 course and have had many students pass their assignments using this too
