We’ve launched new automated Drip-feed Drawdown (DFD) functionality on our Platform, which allows your clients to take a regular income from their pension in a tax efficient manner.

We understand that retirement is a journey for your clients, rather than a moment in time. The challenge is how to meet your clients’ needs in a way that is optimal for them and cost effective for your business.

Key benefits of our drip-feed drawdown:

Helps your clients to be more tax efficient by optimising regular tax-free cash and taxable income.

Automated regular payments which can be adjusted as required, providing full flexibility for your clients and saving you time.

Retirement pots that remain invested longer may continue to grow, helping client pensions last longer.

We also explain HMRC's key rules for ill-health pension provision from 24/25 and suggest some ill-health lump sum planning considerations.

Aegon are currently undertaking some research into the main drivers around selecting Responsible/ESG investment solutions and how they integrate into an advice business. Ultimately, we need the research to inform where the opportunities lie for Aegon Investment Limited as a solutions provider. Our working assumption is that advisers would value solutions that cut through the “noise” and differing approaches taken on ESG but we would welcome this being validated, or not.

How can you help?
We have engaged an external Market Research agency and we’re looking for volunteers in the advice market (both advisers and paraplanners) to provide insight into a series of approximately 15-20 questions around ESG.
If you would be interested in taking part, please can you email theresa.dixon@aegon.co.uk with your contact details.

Hi,

I know a lot of you mainly use web-based tools and systems anyway. But could you ditch Microsoft Office in favour on LibreOffice and use Linux-based PDF tools instead. It's not that difficult. I think I have booted into Windows about twice in the last year.

I use Linux and OpenBSD day in and day out. Who the hell wants to pay for Windows software when there are free open-source equivalents.

So, my question is, are there any work-related applications that are Windows-only and you can't work without them ?

Fancy putting together a Powwow Pub Quiz Team? Powwow supporter 7IM is hosting two events and would be very keen to welcome. Here's details from 7IM, if you're interested please DM me or email how@paraplannerspowwow.co.uk.

We've been running ‘7IM Quiz Nights’ across the UK for a couple of years now and we really want to get the Paraplanning community involved. So far they’ve been a really big hit - the aim is simply to have a bit of fun with some friendly competition.

We currently have two on the horizon – one in Leeds on 14th April and Manchester on 26th May.

We should have about 20 teams consisting of up to 6 members at each. It will be a typical ‘pub quiz’ format with prizes and trophies for the top teams. We can mix and match the teams if needs be, so a Paraplanner team could enter as a whole team or can join in with other teams.

The drinks and food will be on us, all you have to bring are your capacious brains and competitive spirits!

The shape of the evening is likely to be something like this…

5.45pm – 6.30pm Arrive – Welcome drinks
6.30pm – 8.00pm Quiz – Part 1 (with drinks)
8.00pm – 8.30pm Buffet Meal (with drinks)
8.30pm – 9.45pm Quiz – Part 2 (with drinks)
9.45pm – 10.00pm Final Scores and Prizes
10.00pm onwards A few more drinks perhaps?

The Leeds Quiz will be held on 14th April at Tiger Tiger Leeds, The Light, 117 Albion St, Leeds LS2 8DY and the Manchester Quiz will be held on 26th May at The Groovy Wonderland, Tiger Tiger Manchester, 27 Withy Grove, The Printworks, M4 2BS
